Maureen Denise McCormick was born on the 5th of August 1956 in Woodland Hills California the youngest and only daughter of Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick. Her father worked as an educator at school and her mom was mother at home. Michael Dennis, Kevin and Dennis are her three older brothers. McCormick started dancing and singing in her early years and frequently performed puppet shows in front of the children from her neighborhood. When McCormick was six years older, she was crowned her first prize in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley pageant. Pat Domigan at Jack Wormser Agency phoned and asked her whether she'd be interested in entering show business. McCormick got her first big job in 1964 as she acted in a commercial on television for Mattels latest doll, Baby Pattaburp. She did another commercial in the year 1964 for the Mattels Chatty Cathy toy and soon was chosen to play the lead role in the play Wind It Up and It Breaks, a play in the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned to play the oldest daughter in the trio of towheaded girls in The Brady Bunch. The show was a collaboration between Florence Henderson, Robert Reed as well as a brand new family. The show ran for five years. McCormick's autobiography Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was released in 2008. In it she revealed that McCormick was close to losing her virginity on the set of the series during the fifth season when it was played by Barry Williams. She was just 16 at the time while he was. The incident could have occurred, she said but the timing was never right for us.
